Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry for substance analysis
Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) is a specialized analytical technique used to separate, identify, and quantify substances in known or unknown mixtures, for applications in pharma, environment, food and health.
We offer LC-MS services to large companies, start-ups, universities and other partners. Collaborative projects are always tailored to the specific problem at hand. Our work covers the entire specturm, from sample preparation and development to method validation (if requested by the customer), analysis and evaluation.
Substance classes
We analyse non-polar to polar substances using both APCI and ESI sources. Small to large analytes with a wide variety of chemical properties can be determined.
- Natural substances from plant extracts and other media
- Metabolites in body fluids
- Pharmaceuticals
- Contaminants, residues
- Vitamins
- Additives from the cosmetics and food industries
Equipment
- LC-MS, Agilent 1100, TripleQuad 6410
- LC-MS, Agilent 1100/1200, TripleQuad 6460
- LC-MS, Agilent 1100/1200, MSD Trap XCT (Ionenfalle)
- LC-MS, Agilent 1260, SingleQuad 6120
- LC-MS, Agilent 1290, Q-TOF UHD Accurate-Mass 6540
- SPE (non-polar, anion-cation exchanger)
- Extraction (ultrasound, vortex)
- Concentration (SpeedVac, freeze drying, evaporation under nitrogen)
- Biological assays
- Protein digestion
Our TripleQuad systems are primarily used as quantitative tools for stable methodologies. They are particularly sensitive and can therefore also be used for trace analysis. Structural elucidation is possible with the help of the ion trap and our Q-TOF. We also build databases using the Q-TOF and its many evaluation options.
