Our research activities centre on artistic action in the field of music, and the conditions that frame this process – from creation to performance, through to mediation and reception. Research projects draw directly on teaching content and are carried out together with industry partners and practitioners, often as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Research at Basel Academy of Music focuses on the many different processes of artistic action and the philological-historical foundations of music (creating music, performance research, mediation and sources). The potential of the research activities of Basel Academy of Music lies in the close interaction between musical production, reflection and reception.
The Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and Basel Academy of Music, Klassik pursue their own research priorities and traditions.
Schola Cantorum Basiliensis specialises in practice-based Early Music research and deepens in two research fields.
