The programme pursues a dual objective with the development of an independent artistic and educational profile:
Students learn to relate artistic and teaching practices in a meaningful and appropriate way. At the same time, the programme nurtures the students’ own musical practice and further development as an artist, while providing them with intensive hands-on educational training.
The MA in Music Pedagogy degree is generally a prerequisite for employment at Swiss music schools.
Students of the pedagogic programmes of Institut Klassik and Schola Cantorum Basiliensis can take an optional focus in a minor in another subject.
