The Basel Academy of Music and the Musicological Department of the University of Basel are jointly running the project "Music Knowledge":

This project offers the opportunity to carry out a doctoral project.
We look forward receiving your research ideas and suggestions!

The cooperation project enables the realisation of transdisciplinary dissertations and thus the combination of artistic and musicological research. Participants benefit from regular events and intensive supervision by internationally renowned faculty. They acquire transdisciplinary skills by applying artistic research techniques – while exploiting the excellent research conditions in the music city of Basel!

Other Study programmes

Students at the Basel Academy of Music can take modules at the University of Basel free of charge, particularly those offered by the musicology department. The credit points earned are recognised by the Academy of Music.

Basel Academy of Music does not offer continuing education courses in the field of research. However, as a guest student, you are welcome to attend all of our events.
