Curriculum Vitae

Formed in the music academies ESMuC in Barcelona and Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, and with a concert life that includes international cycles and festivals, Joan Boronat Sanz is presented to us as a curious and open-minded musician, that experiments constantly on the poetical and rhetorical possibilities of basso continuo within the ensemble music context, as well as exploring the routes of the solo performance.

His current musical agenda combines international concerts and recordings both as soloist and chamber/orchestral performer with renowned ensembles like La Cetra Barockorchester Basel (Andrea Marcon), Collegium 1704 Prague (Vaclav Luks), Musica Fiorita (Daniela Dolci), La Scintilla Zürich (Ricardo Minasi), La Guirlande (Luis Martínez), Concerto Köln... combining this concert life as well with pedagogy; research on Spanish basso continuo, traditional Scottish music in the Baroque era, the music developed by Jesuits in 16th century Japan; collaborations with theatre, visual arts and electronic music and the correpetitor position at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
