Programme

Objectives
  • To introduce Swiss SMEs to the opportunities and challenges of doing business in India, providing them with essential insights, empirical data, and practical examples from industry leaders.
  • To provide SMEs with a comprehensive understanding of India's historical, cultural, and economic landscape, enhancing their ability to engage effectively with Indian businesses and stakeholders.
  • To immerse SMEs in the Indian business environment, facilitating direct interaction with key industry players, government officials, and academic experts to foster practical knowledge and strategic partnerships.
Course structure

Participants: minimum 12 and maximum 25 (for Study tour in India)

  • Capacity Building Sessions (June and August 2026)
  • Study tour in India (August 9 – 17)
  • Final Meeting at FHNW (August 26)
Capacity Building Sessions in Switzerland

Seminar 1: Gain insights into India's rich history, diverse culture, and the evolution of its economic development. This knowledge is crucial for building respectful and informed business relationships.
Value: Helps SMEs appreciate the cultural nuances and historical background that influence business practices in India.

Webinar: Acquire detailed facts and figures about the Indian economy and the business relationship between India and Switzerland.
Value: Provides SMEs with the necessary economic data and bilateral trade information to make informed business decisions.

Company Visit in Basel Area: Understand the practical aspects of doing business in India through a company visit, providing real-world examples of successful market entry and operation strategies.
Value: Offers SMEs a practical perspective and networking opportunities with businesses experienced in the Indian market.

Optional Study Tour in India

Company Visits: Visits to companies like Swiss Re, Bosch, Accenture, Schindler, and others to understand their operations and strategies in India.
Value: Provides firsthand experience and insights into successful business practices and strategies in the Indian market.

Symposiums and Peer-Group Meetings: Participate in symposia focused on TEPA articles and peer-group meetings at educational institutions like Athena School of Management and University of Delhi.
Value: Facilitates academic and professional networking, promoting knowledge exchange and collaboration on trade and sustainable development issues. 

Visits to Swiss Embassy, Swiss Consulate, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Gain insights into the support available for Swiss businesses in India and the regulatory environment.
Value: Helps SMEs understand the governmental and institutional frameworks that can aid their market entry and expansion in India.

Guided City Tours and Cultural Visits: Explore key cultural and historical sites to gain a deeper understanding of the Indian market context.
Value: Enhances cultural competence, which is vital for building effective business relationships and navigating the Indian market.

Presentations and Discussions on Specific Topics: Engage in sessions focused on topics like government procurement, investment opportunities, and sustainable development.
Value: Equips SMEs with targeted knowledge on critical aspects of doing business in India, helping them to develop strategic approaches tailored to these areas.

  • CHF 500: only the three capacity building Sessions in Switzerland on June 17 and August 5th (Webinars) and 24th of June Onsite in Olten (14.00 – 18.00)
  • CHF 2’500: (the entire Programme, including 7 days Study Trip 9th – 17th of August and the Final Event on August 26th 2026)
  • 15% discount for a second company representative, 25% discount for a third company representative
