Prof. Roman Digion,

Roman Digion grew up in the Zurich Oberland and lives in Winterthur. He studied piano with Hansjürg Strub, orchestral conducting with Marc Kissoczy and Johannes Schläfli, composition with Mathias Steinauer and music theory with Daniel Glaus and Thomas Müller at the Zurich Academy of the Arts. Roman Digion is a lecturer in music theory at the Basel Academy of Music and is the head of the Bachelor in Music programme at the Institute of Classical Music since 2023. He supervises a composition class at the Winterthur Conservatory and directs the Young Composers Project at the Künstlerhaus Boswil. As a pianist, he regularly plays concert series with Simon Wenger and David Lüthi featuring masterpieces from the piano trio literature. He is co-founder and musical director of the opera stage "Oper vor Ort" in St.Gallen.
