      Curriculum Vitae

Alexandre Zanetta (born 1990) comes from near Paris and had his first encounter with the natural horn at the age of 15 with his teacher Jacques Adnet (CRR Paris). He later studied modern horn with Marie-Luise Neunecker at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and with Jens Plücker at the Musikhochschule Lübeck.

His interest in and passion for historical horns brought him to the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis to study them in depth with Thomas Müller and Jean-François Madeuf, with a special interest in baroque horns and the relation between horn playing and singing. He is very passionate about teaching young musicians in music schools, and since 2021 he has also been active on an academic level as a lecturer for historical horns at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen.

He is regularly engaged by renowned early music ensembles such as La Cetra Barockorchester Basel, Collegium 1704 and Concerto Copenhagen, and has taken part in CD productions with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg and Los Elementos - to name but a few.

In the autumn semester of 2022, he succeeded Thomas Müller as lecturer for historical horns at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
