Medical Decision Support Systems

Acquisition, processing and analysis of medicine and healthcare data, and the development of applications to make that data usable for patients, doctors and planners.

In order to be a basis for medical decisions, data must be processed, integrated and made usable, not merely collected. Medical and healthcare data collection and storage is growing rapidly and this information is playing an increasingly important role as the basis for medical decisions, both in the clinic and with patients. To ensure that information is not only available in a database but can actually be exploited, it must be made visible and accessible to users.

Examples of our projects include interactive visualization to enable explorative analysis; user interfaces are fundamental for ensuring system usability and effective communication of results.
