Supply Chain & Value Networks, FHNW School of Business

School of Business

Twin Transition: We conduct research for the sustainable and digital future of value creation.

Vision

We design resilient, sustainable, and intelligent value creation networks and transform traditional, linear supply chains into adaptive, networked, and technology-based value networks. In doing so, we combine economic performance with social and environmental responsibility. Our aim is to develop theoretically sound yet practical concepts, methods, and tools for the next generation of sustainable value creation.

Focus areas

There are key levers for transforming and orchestrating supply chains into sustainable value networks. Our focus is on:

  • Digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchain, cloud, and Web3
  • Decentralized, resilient value networks based, among other things, on the development of new governance models for autonomously cooperating, technologically networked partner networks
  • Sustainability and the circular economy, as well as new incentive systems, e.g., through tokenization
  • Platform and ecosystem strategies for the intelligent networking of actors
  • Omnichannel and direct-to-consumer (D2C) strategies in e-commerce
  • Product-as-a-service models and circular value creation approaches
  • Maturity models to make progress and transformability measurable, comparable, and controllable
