In this research project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), we are investigating new methods for identifying the origin of epidemic processes.
With the help of graph neural networks and Gaussian processes, the methods should become scalable and applicable to real social networks. We are also researching decentralized algorithms that can improve the efficiency of future contact tracing apps for containing epidemics.
