      Minor in Wind Orchestra Conducting

      In-depth exploration of wind orchestra conducting

      This Minor is suited to students who wish to supplement their Musical Performance or Music Pedagogy Master's degree with a second qualification as a wind orchestra conductor.

      Admission requirements
      • Passed the entrance exam for the chosen Master's Programme (MA P or MA MP)
      • Passed the entrance exam for the Minor in Wind Orchestra Conducting
      • Place availability
      Structure

      Structure Minor Klassik Wind Orchestra Conducting in German

      Minor in Wind Orchestra Conducting (20 CP):

      • Conducting, score reading, analysis, orchestration
      • Wind music repertoire, rehearsal techniques
      • Conducting techniques, wind orchestra projects
      Application process

      Entrance exam

      Provided that they have been accepted on their chosen Master's programme, applicants will be invited to take the entrance exam for the Minor in Wind Orchestra Conducting:

      • Analysis of a wind orchestra work of applicant’s choosing (approx. 15 minutes)
      • An interview with the examiners in which the applicant explains their motivation behind their application and maps out how they envisage their career as a professional wind orchestra conductor.

      Deadline

      The application, including confirmation of admission to the MA programme for the subsequent academic year, must be filed by 20 June.
