Curriculum Vitae

Marc Hantaï war Schüler von Barthold Kuijken am königlichen Konservatorium für Musik in Brüssel und schloss diese Studien 1986 mit Auszeichnung (Diplome Supérieur avec grande distinction) ab. Er arbeitete als erster Flötist mit bekannten Orchestern der Alten Musik-Szene zusammen, so z. B. The Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra (Leitung Ton Koopman), Les Arts Florissants (Leitung William Christie), Collegium Vocale Gent, (Leitung Philippe Herreweghe), La Petite Bande (Leitung Sigiswald Kuijken), Europa Galante (Leitung Fabio Biondi), Ricercar Consort (Leitung Philippe Pierlot), Le Concert Français (Leitung Pierre Hantaï), Balthasar Neumann Ensemble (Leitung Thomas Hengelbrock), La Chambre Philharmonique (Leitung Emmanuel Krivine), Anima Eterna Symphony Orchestra (Leitung Jos van Immerseel), Le Concert des Nations (Leitung Jordi Savall). Als Solist und Kammermusiker konzertiert er häufig in Europa, Japan, Korea und den Vereinigten Staaten. Auf CD hat er unter anderen W.F. Bachs 6 Flötenduette, Haydns Londoner Trios, Les Nations von Couperin mit den Kuijken-Brüdern, die h-moll Suite und das musikalische Opfer von J.S. Bach mit Jordi Savall sowie Bachs Flötensonaten (mit seinen Brüdern Jérôme, Viola da gamba und Pierre, Cembalo) eingespielt. Er war einige Jahre Barthold Kuijkens Assistent am Konservatorium in Brüssel. Er unterrichtet an der katalanischen Hochschule für Musik in Barcelona (ESMUC) und seit Wintersemester 2008/09 an der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

Marc Hantaï is retiring at the end of the spring semester 2026. His successor is Georges Barthel.
