Professional career
Samuel Hanselmann is Head of the Central Student Administration and Co-Head of the Teaching Process at the Basel Academy of Music.
Prior to this, he spent five years working as a programme coordinator and lecturer on the Interior Design and Scenography programme at the HGK Basel FHNW. There, he designed and taught a series of seminars on personal knowledge management, self-management and skills development, and coached students on team development dynamics in group projects. He also contributed his expertise to various school development projects.
As a research assistant and researcher, he focused on knowledge transfer in a museum context, particularly through the use of media and sensory technologies at the Institute for Experimental Design and Media Cultures (IXDM). He was involved in several research projects and contributed to the development of research proposals within the framework of Innosuisse as well as internal university funding programmes.
In addition to his work at HGK Basel, he worked for several years as a photographer, specialising in portraiture and knowledge documentation.
He has many years of experience as a producer and project manager in the fields of web, e-learning and multimedia, including for F. Hoffmann-La Roche, Credit Suisse, DSM and Holcim. His professional career began with the establishment and management of the usability laboratory at PIDAS AG.
Samuel Hanselmann holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Multimedia Arts from Middlesex University London and an MBA in Knowledge Management & Digital Transformation from IKF Lucerne.
