We are pleased to announce that Mr. Ralph Bernardy will take over the position for aural training at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis FHNW from the spring semester 2019 as the successor of Hans Peter Weber.

Ralph Bernardy, geb. 1988 in Trier, studierte Komposition bei Wolfgang Rihm und Musiktheorie bei Michael Reudenbach und Christian Kemper an der Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe und absolvierte dort sein Diplom mit Auszeichnung. Danach folgte ein Studium der Theorie der Alten Musik an der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis bei Johannes Menke und Felix Diergarten.

Als Komponist arbeitete er mit renommierten Solisten und Ensembles wie Eduard Brunner, Barbara Maurer, Isao Nakamura, Kaya Han, Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Recherche, Thüringer Symphoniker, Badische Staatskapelle u.a. zusammen.

Zwischen 2013 und 2018 unterrichtete er als Lehrbeauftragter für Musiktheorie und Gehörbildung an den Musikhochschulen in Stuttgart, Trossingen, Essen und Karlsruhe. Im Studienjahr 2016/17 war er außerdem Vertretungsdozent für Satzlehre an der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Momentan ist er als akademischer Mitarbeiter für Musiktheorie und Gehörbildung an der Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe tätig.

Seine Publikationen beschäftigen sich vorwiegend mit analytischen Fragestellungen zum Repertoire des 15. bis 20. Jahrhunderts. Beim Wolke-Verlag sind Bücher zum Aphorismus in der Wiener Schule (2015) sowie zu den Allemanden J. J. Frobergers (2017) erschienen.
