Societas: the new Alumni Association of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis that is being implemented in the coming months, and officially inaugurated with an event on the 15th of January 2027. Save the date!
Mission Statement
The mission of the Societas is to foster a lifelong community of Schola Cantorum Basiliensis alumni by connecting graduates across the globe through a compact organization that allows members to effectively communicate with each other and the Schola on matters of mutual interest, arrange for alumni meetups, establish funding partners, and in other ways foster and perpetuate enthusiasm for the Schola and alumni, ultimately working to strengthen the alumni network and contribute to the vitality and future of historical performance practice.
In the next couple of months, a team consisting of Johannes Keller, Maya Webne-Behrman, and Holly Scarborough will develop and implement the Societas, aiming for the following elements:
Journal: events calendar, interviews, research-based articles, opinion pieces, announcements, reviews, games and puzzles, yearly printed magazine
Career Center: professional mentoring, job listings, workshops, and presentations
Alumni Database: alumni profiles customisable with professional documents, links, media, and announcements
Meetups: social gatherings to encourage community and collaboration among alumni, and a maintained enthusiasm for the Schola and current students
