Curriculum Vitae

Education. Studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, after private lessons with Andreas Schweizer and Naoki Kitaya. Diploma in Early Music, majoring in harpsichord with Jörg-Andreas Bötticher (2008) and Master of Arts in basso continuo and ensemble conducting with Jesper Christensen and Andrea Marcon (2010). Various awards at youth music competitions. Sponsorship award from the Lions Club Basel (2009), sponsorship award from the Canton of Thurgau (2010). Participant in the ‘Akademie Musiktheater heute’ of the Deutsche Bank Foundation (2010).

Artistic activity. Co-founder of the basso continuo ensemble ‘Il Profondo’ and the duo ‘L'Istante’ (with violinist Anaïs Chen). Regular collaboration with Andrea Marcon, including as assistant for opera productions at Theater Basel, the Frankfurt Opera and the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence. Further collaboration as assistant for baroque opera with Christian Curnyn (Frankfurt Opera and Stuttgart State Theatre) and Michael Form (Heidelberg Theatre and Frankfurt Opera). Participation in CD productions for ‘Deutsche Grammophon’, ‘resonando’, ‘Archiv’, “Cantus” and ‘France 2’. Regular activities with ‘La Cetra’ (Basel Baroque Orchestra), ‘Venice Baroque Orchestra’ and ‘Les Siècles’, among others. Guest engagements with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, HR Symphony Orchestra, among others.

Member of the musictheater company »La Cage« (Berlin / Paris).

Since 2014 board member of »Forum andere Musik Thurgau«.

Research. Focus on chromatic-enharmonic (more than 12 notes per octave) instruments and music from the 16th and 17th centuries. In this context also collaborations with contemporary composers such as Caspar Johannes Walter, Vito Žuraj and José Sanchez-Verdù, and guest engagements with formations such as the “ensemble modern”.

2014-2017 Head of the research project »Studio31« at the Basel Academy of Music and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, on the reconstruction of an organ and a harpsichord with 36 and 31 keys per octave respectively.

2020-2024 Research associate on the SNSF project Vicentino21 – a digital edition with commentary, translation and practical exploration of Nicola Vicentino’s «L’antica musica ridotta alla moderna prattica» (Rome 1555)

Teaching activity. Since 2013 lecturer for intonation and tuning at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, since 2013 guest lecturer at the Universidad Central in Bogotá for basso continuo, performance practice and chamber music.
