Our Competencies

Industry Projects
R&D Focus Areas

Your Benefits

Comprehensive expertise: Broad knowledge in materials science with a focus on metals and ceramics, extending to coatings and additive manufacturing

Modern infrastructure and know‑how: Access to extensive laboratory equipment and the specialized expertise of the materials team within joint projects

Tailored solutions: Analysis of your specific material‑related challenges, identification of solution strategies, and development of optimized component technologies

Acquisition of funding: Expertise in applying for public research funding, particularly Innosuisse: joint clarification of funding opportunities, assessment of innovation potential, and leadership in proposal preparation

Access to research resources: Topic‑specific literature searches through access to journal databases

Cooperations: Strong networking within IPPE and with other research institutes as well as industrial partners in Switzerland and abroad, enabling interdisciplinary processing of sub‑tasks

Materials—and the understanding of their behavior in relation to manufacturing processes and design—form the foundation of our products, and thus of technological innovation. We support you in analyzing, developing, and optimizing materials in a targeted manner, adapting their properties to specific applications, and enabling high‑performance, durable, and competitive solutions.
