Digital Storytelling for Engineers (Technical Elective)

The module Digital Storytelling will help students transform facts, knowledge and ideas into engaging digital media that enhances understanding, fosters empathy, and makes knowledge both relatable and actionable. Not only will students explore the fundamentals of effective story writing, but also transform that story to video by using a range of media and tools for effective meaning-making. The module will also provide students the opportunity to explore how AI can support writing and media creation for a digital audience.

Students will:

• learn the essentials of structured story writing
• learn to write for a digital audience and create a story video
• use the fundamentals such as storyboarding to powerfully and concisely visualize story content
• apply AI to perform research, proofread content and inspire visualization of their story
• collaborate with fellow students to develop ideas and reflect
• apply knowledge of digital storytelling to critique a digital story

Entry based on placement test or successful completion of ten2. Language level C1 or above.
