Spring Semester 2024
February 27 – June 1
Tuesday, 7.30 – 8.30 a.m.
(cancelled on 2 April)
Provider's description Quiet strength hour following the method of J. Pilates.
The Pilates method is a gentle full body workout that contributes to the strengthening of the entire musculature, primarily the pelvic floor, abdominal and back muscles. By activating the core or deep muscles, the deep-lying supportive musculature around the spine is strengthened. The spine is relieved and can return to its natural S-shape. Postural damage and back problems can be prevented. Thanks to the slow, flowing and controlled movements, joints are protected. With regular participation in the course, you will develop more length, strength, flexibility and a deeper body awareness.
After a gentle warm-up, i.e. mobilisation of the body, we (with or without aids) will move in the flow of breathing. Targeted strength and fascia exercises will gradually be incorporated and expanded, balance exercises round off the whole. At the end of the hour, we will mobilise again, stretch and finish in a balanced way.
