In our metal workshop, students produce all kinds of locksmithing and metal works. From large frame constructions for installations, to mechanical components and fashion accessories, to sophisticated cast metal objects.
Techniques / Machinery
Locksmith and forging work
Welding / soldering
Welding and soldering of all common metals, including MIG, TIG, and spot-welding.
Sheet metal cutting
Steel, aluminium, and chrome steel sheets up to a thickness of 2 mm and a maximum length of 2000 mm can be cut to size with sheet metal cutting shears.
Drilling
Our powerful standing drills are capable of drilling holes of up to 30mm in steel.
Sawing
Fast cuts on the bandsaw, precise cuts and mitre cuts using the metal circular saw.
Bending
Sheets up to 2mm thick and max. 2 metres length can be bent on our sheet metal folder.
Tubes of up to 30mm diameter can be bent at all angles on our tube bending machine.
Flat steels and thick-walled tubes can be formed on the bending press with 10 tons pressure.
A manual press is available for small objects and single pieces
Rolling
Square and round profiles can be rolled into circular segments using different sets of rolls.
Grinding
We have a large selection of grinders and materials to carry out all kinds of grinding and polishing work professionally.
Milling and turning
Mechanical work can be carried out on a lathe or a milling machine with the aid of digital measuring systems.
Casting
Metals such as aluminium, bronze, and pewter can be melted and cast. Casting moulds made of oil sand, silicone, or plaster can be produced in the workshops.
