There are many different ways to collaborate and cooperate with HGK Basel.

Analog Digital Communication Lab (AnDiCo Lab)

The Institute Digital Communication Environments offers businesses and public institutions a promising service package at usual market rates for the design of their media in analogue as well as digital communication channels. The assignments are conceptualized, designed and implemented either by a team specially selected for the purpose or by advanced BA and MA students in a respective project course. For the clients, the collaboration with students and lecturers promises a wide range of innovative, surprising and contemporary design proposals, while we, as an applied university, get the chance to link up our teaching activities with real-life social, economic, and cultural practices. ANDICO LAB has up to now realized projects for the Presidential Department of Canton Basel-Stadt, the Stapferhaus Lenzburg, Messe Schweiz AG, Bell AG, Hoffmann La Roche AG, among others, and designs communication products on behalf of the various schools of the FHNW Applied University.

Institute Arts and Design Education (IADE)

Kunst und Design eröffnen neue Perspektiven, die Welt und unsere Lebensweisen wahrzunehmen, zu befragen, zu gestalten und zu verändern. Das Institute Arts and Design Education versteht sich als hybrides Netzwerk, das diverse künstlerische und gestalterische Perspektiven aufnimmt, weiterentwickelt und in vielfältigen Bildungsprozessen wirksam werden lässt.

Institute Experimental Design and Media Cultures (IXDM)

Das Institute Experimental Design und Media Cultures (IXDM) versammelt Studierende, Lehrende und Forschende mit unterschiedlichsten Hintergründen und versucht gestalterische Methoden für Prozesse des gesellschaftlichen, politischen und ökologischen Wandels fruchtbar zu machen.

Institute Digital Communication Environments (IDCE)

Durch die digitalen Medien und die damit einhergehende Demokratisierung der Kommunikationskanäle hat der kritische Umgang mit deren visuellen und interaktionsbasierten Gestaltung entscheidend an Bedeutung gewonnen, weil sich damit die gesellschaftliche Relevanz von Information und Kommunikation grundlegend verändert hat.

Institute Art Gender Nature (IAGN)

Das Institut Kunst — mit Gender und Natur ist eine Gemeinschaft, die sich aus lehrenden Künstler:innen und studierenden Künstler:innen zusammensetzt.

Institute Contemporary Design Practices (ICDP)

Das Institute Contemporary Design Practices (ICDP) arbeitet an den Schnittstellen von Ausbildung, Forschung, Wissensproduktion und Vermittlung im Design. Es umfasst die drei Studienrichtungen Mode-Design, Industrial Design und Innenarchitektur & Szenografie und bietet Student:innen, Forscher:innen und Mitarbeiter:innen aus den unterschiedlichen Fachbereichen ein lebendiges, kreatives Umfeld, um zeitgemässe reflektierte Designpraktiken zu erproben und zu vermitteln.
