The Analog Digital Communication Lab (AnDiCo Lab) offers services in the areas of visual communication, moving images, and spatial installations to businesses and public institutions at standard market rates.

Through collaboration with students and faculty at HGK Basel, clients receive contemporary, innovative designs shaped by the passion and creativity of young designers. The international focus of our degree programmes brings together diverse cultural and aesthetic perspectives, leading to a wide range of design ideas. At the same time, you benefit from the AnDiCo Lab team’s many years of experience. The combination of creativity, innovation, high professionalism, and experience has been valued by AnDiCo Lab’s clients (formerly “Büro für Kommunikationsdesign” until 2016) for over 20 years. Last but not least, by commissioning work from AnDiCo Lab, you help connect academic teaching and social, economic, and cultural practice.

Range of Methods

At the AnDiCo Lab, projects are conceived, designed, and implemented either by a specially assembled team or as part of project-based courses in the later semesters of bachelor’s or master’s programs. Every project is unique, and our agile organizational structure allows us to offer project-specific settings.

Identity Design: Development of visual identities, brand images and corporate design systems for institutions, companies and cultural contexts

Editorial Design: Conceptualisation and design of digital and analogue publications – from books, brochures and reports to e-books and interactive formats

Spatial Design: Signage, spatial orientation systems, as well as the conceptualisation and design of exhibitions, spatial interventions and temporary formats

Moving Media & Photography: Moving image, animation and photographic work in the fields of documentation, knowledge transfer and events

Campaign Design: Development of visual campaigns, key visuals and communication identities for events such as festivals, conferences, exhibitions and other public formats

Information Design: Visual translation of complex content through information graphics, data visualisation and diagrammatic systems

Consultancy: Independent design consultancy, analysis and strategy processes, as well as the conceptualisation, support and adjudication of design competitions
