The IDCE researches visual communication and digital communication environments that are of central importance for social participation, inclusion, and diversity in democratic societies.
The aim is to gain insights into the potential of visual artifacts and the limitations of specific forms of digital communication, and to apply them in practice-oriented projects in order to promote social sustainability in close collaboration with partners from research, civil society, or public institutions.
