Admission, registration, and aptitude assessment

Are you interested in studying at the Basel Academy of Art and Design FHNW? Here you will find detailed information regarding the application, admission to the programme, and aptitude assessment. If you have any questions regarding the admission requirements (educational qualifications, language of tuition) or the aptitude assessment, please don’t hesitate to contact any one of the degree programmes for a nonbinding, clarifying conversation by phone or by email before proceeding to the online registration.

Application deadlines 2026

The application window for the fall semester 2026 is open now. To apply and register for the aptitude assessment for a place at the HGK Basel, the required documents must be submitted on the following dates:

  • Bachelor's programme: 15.02.2026
  • Master's programme: 15.03.2026
