As part oft he inter-univeristy CO-Create program, wich promotes cooperative and interdisciplinary practices, this program fosters circular design. For us as designers, actions such as care, repair, refresh, recreation, or remanufacturing are vital circular practices to relearn.

    Aims and benefits

    This HGK Basel (ICDP) programme transforms second-hand clothing into avant-garde design through deconstruction. You will explore circular fashion practices at the intersection of systemic critique, material semiotics, and sustainable business models. You will develop scalable design-for-disassembly strategies, master EU textile regulations, and pitch circular product-service systems for the industry.

    This SAS is part of the HGK Basel’s CoCreate program. Only two spots are available.


    Target audience

    This programme is designed for creators and professionals eager to actively shape the transition towards a circular fashion future:Fashion & Textile Designers looking to expand their practice with avant-garde upcycling and deconstruction techniques. Fashion Industry Professionals seeking strategic expertise in circular supply chains, EU regulations, and sustainable business models. Creatives & Researchers aiming to work at the intersection of design, systemic critique, and material research.

    Lecturers

    Evelyne Roth is a designer and lecturer in the BA Fashion Design program, the MA Masterstudio ICDP, and the institute-wide CoCreate program at the HGK Basel FHNW. Questioning established processes in the fashion industry, attempting to disrupt them, and launching products that represent a contemporary statement are fundamental to her holistic approach as a designer. The core focus areas of her creative practice and teaching are circular design, research, design development, conceptualization, and material knowledge.


    Requirements and admission

    The continuing education programs are primarily aimed at individuals with an academic degree from a recognized university and relevant professional experience after graduation.Individuals with equivalent qualifications will be admitted if their eligibility for participation is demonstrated by other evidence.
