Aufbau und Inhalte
Course methods / Learning activities
The course provides you with a supportive, concentrated and structured framework within which to draft and/or revise your scholarly texts.
The writing process and goals are subdivided into manageable formats distributed over three days: this includes introductions to capture readers› attention, accurate reporting of methods and well-argued discussions.
- You will be familiarised with the features of scholarly writing based on current research and writing guides – from choosing the right word to writing clear sentences and crafting coherent paragraphs.
- You will familiarise yourself with models of good writing in your own field and transfer what you deem appropriate to your own texts.
- You will draft and/or revise chunks of your own text.
- You will support each other with developmental feedback.
- The lecturer will give feedback on parts of your text.

Aufnahmekriterien
Participants will benefit most from the course if they, at the very least, have some data or concept that they can turn into a first draft; or if they have a draft they need to polish for submission to a supervisor or a publication; or if they have a text they must revise for resubmission.
Participants should bring along three publications by someone else that they consider well-written. Ideally one of these publications should be from a targeted journal.
