Prof. Dr. Clément Javerzac
Clément Javerzac is professor of applied quantum computing at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) focusing on life science applications and a co-founder of Miraex, developing photonic and quantum technologies for next-gen sensing, networking and computing. He obtained his PhD at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in the group of Tobias Kippenberg. Prior to joining EPFL, he was a guest researcher at NIST (USA) in William D. Phillips’ lab and held a position at Thales Group. Clément is an engineer from Institut d’Optique (Paris) and studied physics at Université Paris Saclay and EPFL.
Damir Bogdan
Damir Bogdan is the CEO of QuantumBasel. Holding an executive MBA from SUNY New York, a Swiss Federal Diploma for IT Management, as well as profesionnal certificates from Harward University and MIT in the field of AI and innovation technologies, Damir Bogdan is a world expert in digital transformation and disruptive innovation technologies for business. He is active in Switzerland as well as in Silicon Valley. Part of his work is organizing strategy workshops and global immersions for Executives to the US. He is engaged at Plug and Play, Silicon Valley’s largest innovation platform.
Camila Galvez Molteni
Camila Galvez is QuantumBasel’s Marketing & Startup manager. Prior to joining the team, Camila worked for Plug and Play, where she managed different startup acceleration programs and CVC's in Europe. Holding a BS in International Relations, Camila has worked in project management for different European Commission projects and Marketing & Communications for startups in New York and Italy.
Dr. Frederik Flöther
Frederik Flöther is the lead quantum and deputy CEO of QuantumBasel. Holding a PhD in physics from the University of Cambridge with a focus on photonic quantum computing as well as a professional certificate in quantum computing applications from MIT, he has authored over 40 filed patents, peer-reviewed publications, white papers, and book chapters. He also worked over seven years with IBM and was responsible for healthcare and life sciences at IBM Quantum.
Sonja Andrist
Sonja Andrist is the Business Manager and Lead Special Projects for QuantumBasel. She also acts as a speaker to raise awareness about quantum computing at various advanced-education events. She is particularly interested in the future skills required to stay at the top. In her previous career she worked as a Global Project Manager for Hoffmann-La Roche in drug development before she ran her own company.
Dr. Julien Baglio
Julien Baglio is a quantum scientist at QuantumBasel, performing research in quantum algorithms and application to various industrial cases, in particular in quantum artificial intelligence. Holding a PhD in theoretical particle physics from the University of Paris-Sud 11 with a focus on the infamous Higgs boson discovered in 2012, he has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and white papers. He also worked three years at CERN where he started his research investigation in quantum machine learning.
Robby Toole
Robby Toole is the Head of AI & Collaborations for QuantumBasel. His main focus is building quantum and AI projects with industry using QuantumBasel's fantastic team, technology partners, and ecosystem. His previous experience includes business development roles at IBM Watson, Research, and Intellectual Property as well as time in the venture capital world building and running startup accelerators for Plug and Play.
