Communications and RF technology

Transmission technology for electrical signals is essential for many microelectronic systems, but it is also applied in discrete applications.


The FHNW Institute of Microelectronics uses its know-how from the physics of signal transmission together with measurement techniques up to the lower level of the OSI communications model:

  • Transmission technology, field theory, antenna
  • design and analysis of transmitters and receivers including their transmission path
  • Communications systems at the lower OSI layers
  • signal processing

For all these applications we use modern simulation tools from Matlab to field simulators and our modern powerful measurement equipment in the RF lab.
