Bachelor Business Administration (International Management)

Students seeking management careers in international environments need communication competence, a generalist academic background coupled with a practical focus, and a working knowledge of how to function in multicultural systems. The unique and original Bachelor of Business Administration (International Management) programme delivers this. Taught entirely in English and embedded in an intercultural setting, qualified and experienced lecturers impart sound knowledge and application skills in various management fields always ensuring there are global perspectives. In the higher semesters, the selected major provides specialist training in key business fields.

Career Profiles

International Management graduates are professionally competent to take on management tasks in organisations operating in global contexts. A high percentage of graduates find immediate employment or acceptance into Master programmes. Built on a solid generalist foundation, graduates acquire specialist knowledge in Marketing, Human Resource Management, Corporate Communication or Accounting. Alternatively, students select the Extended Major in Banking & Finance, equipping them with an accredited profile. The degree is also a stepping stone towards entry to Master programmes at distinguished universities around the world.

Studying International Management means studying in English...

Every possible communication regarding the degree course – lectures, assignments, administration – is conducted in English. Students gain advanced understanding of operating in the international business world. The close contact with exchange students from all over the world, who study alongside home students, consolidates intercultural, social and communication competence.

Every IM student is required to study at least one semester at a university abroad. More By studying at one of the 120 partners universities all over the world students face the challenge of transferring and applying the knowledge already gained to function in a foreign environment.

Despite its distinct profile, International Management has been a regular Swiss Business Administration (“Betriebsökonomie”) degree course since 1999. This successful Bologna Bachelor applies the key assets of the existing “Betriebsökonomie” to organisations operating in global markets.
