Overview The logistics flows entering every company determines the basis for efficiency and effectiveness of the operational output.
The planning and control of production (MRP, JIT, Kanban...) with its focus on demand determination and production program planning (forecasting procedures, parts lists, work schedules) is based on a functioning material procurement (warehouse or delivery concepts, order management, supplier management).
The is enhanced by a case study/exercises.
Learning objectives The students are able to design and construct a planning and control system in materials management and production.
In particular, they can

  • Identify and evaluate production logistics and materials management requirements
  • describe the methods of procurement, production control and monitoring and assess their use
  • Distinguish between control methods and use them according to requirements
  • Plan capacities and resources taking limit values into account
  • Develop planning parameters for the management of stocks and design and manage planning processes in line with requirements.
  • use a production planning and control system professionally
