Speaking Assessment

Many teachers find it difficult to teach and assess speaking. How can we be sure students get enough input and practice, and achieve Aargauer Lehrplan objectives? This course provides an overview using practical examples and opportunities to try new methods, activities and assessment tools for speaking.

Although most teachers would agree that speaking is an important skill, many find it difficult to teach and assess – especially in large classes when there is too little time. How can we be sure that students are making progress and getting the guided practice they need? How can we use the textbook and other materials to help students achieve the speaking objectives of the Aargauer Lehrplan? Are there less time-consuming ways to test and assess speaking competence? This course will provide an overview using many practical examples and offer opportunities to try out new methods, activities and tools for assessing speaking competence.
